Dutch-Ghanaian forward Emanuel Poku played a pivotal role in Almere City FC’s 3–1 away victory against Vitesse in the Eerste Divisie, producing an impressive two-assist performance.
Poku made his mark early in the match at the GelreDome, delivering a perfectly weighted pass that allowed Julian Rijkhoff to open the scoring in the 13th minute and hand the visitors a dream start.
The hosts responded just before the interval when Adam Tahaui found the equaliser for Vitesse, ensuring the sides went into the break level.
However, Almere City regained the initiative in the second half. Ferdy Druijf restored the visitors’ advantage in the 63rd minute, finishing off a low cross from Boyd Reith during a swift counter-attack.
Poku then sealed an outstanding personal performance with his second assist of the match in the 76th minute. The attacker surged forward before picking out Druijf again, who calmly finished to make it 3–1 and secure the win.
The display further highlighted Poku’s influence in Almere City’s attack this season. The 21-year-old has now registered eight goals and five assists in 30 league appearances during the 2025/26 campaign.
Almere City will look to continue their positive run when they host RKC Waalwijk on March 17 in their next league fixture.
