Dynamo Dresden boss, Alexander Schmidt, has heaped praises on German-Ghanaian Michael Akoto following his blistering start to life with the club.
The 23-year-old has hit top form in all three games played in the Bundesliga II, and was greatly impressed as the Yellow and Blacks thrashed Hansa Rostock 3-1 away.
“He did very well, was very grippy and, due to his speed, was also good in the duels. You could see what athleticism he has,” said the manager after the game.
The highlight of his performances was in the game against Hanover 86, where he stopped winger Florent Muslija.
“He saw that he can keep up. It is often the case with younger people that they are still unsure. But he has noticed that his weapons are also working in the league. He’s only just beginning, of course, but it made us all feel good,” explained Alexander Schmidt.
“Michael still has to find his way in. Not everything was perfect on the ball because he had one or two slip-ups. But of course he has outstanding athletic skills, made up for it with his speed and played a very good, demanding game. The people in charge once again showed a good eye.”
