Egyptian Referee Gehad Gerisha, who was suspended by Caf for 6 months due to his “low performance” in the first leg of the Caf Champions League final between Wydad Casablanca & Esperance has had his suspension overturned according to the Egyptian Football Federation [EFA].
The seasoned referee upon appealing CAF’s initial sanction has seen him cleared of any wrongdoing and has thus been reinstated to officiate in the upcoming African Cup of Nations in Egypt.
Essam Abdel- Fattah, head of Arbitration at the Egyptian Football Federation on Friday said that, the appeal against the suspension of
Gehad Gerisha has been accepted by Caf, ”as a result, the suspension has been lifted. Gerisha will join CAN referee training camp tomorrow [Saturday]”
