French born Ghanaian midfielder Elisha Owusu has revealed that Ligue 1 club Bordeaux were after him in the just ended summer transfer window.
The tireless enforcer pointed out that discussions started between Gent and Bordeaux but they could not come to a consensus and he had to stay with the Jupiler League side.
“Of course it was discussed, but there was never an agreement between the clubs,” Owusu told Het Laatste Nieuws in relations to the failed Bordeaux move.
“It’s not that I’m still sitting here against my will. I still have things to learn here and things to do. I also feel good here. My full focus is now on raising my level and showing my ability. I’ve been here for three years and already have some experience. I have to show that now,” he added.
Owusu has played two League games so far for Gent this season.
