Ghana international, Emmanuel Toku was in action on Saturday for Botev Plovdiv as they kicked off their 2021/22 league campaign with a home win over Pirin Blagoervgrad.
Toku, who is on loan from Fremad Amager started in the attacking midfield role for Botev at the Botev 1912 Football Complex as they defeated their rivals with a 2-1 scoreline.
The home team took a first-half lead through Pa Konate in the 19th miute before Marquinhos Costa doubled the lead with four minutes left on the clock for the first-half break.
After the recess, Pirin pulled one back through Bulgaria international, Stiliyan Nikolov, but that was all the away team could managed as they ended the game as the losing team.
Toku played all 90 minutes for Botev, who will be looking to maintain their fine form in their next league game.
