Mohammed Salisu started his fifth game for Southampton on Wednesday during Week 33 of the English Premier League against Manchester City who won by 5-2.
Salisu was used at the left side of what appeared to be a 5-4-1 formation by manager Hasenhuttl but the team of Pep Guardiola – determined to quickly bounce back to winning ways after a home defeat to Manchester United – proved too strong for the Ghanaian and his teammates.
The Ghanaian defender had the difficult task of watching the area where Riyad Mahrez and Kevin De Bruyne operated as the duo finished the game with two goals each.
The former Real Valladolid sensation went on to complete the full 90 minutes at the Etihad.
