Board member of Hearts of Oak Alhaji Brimah Akambi has responded to critics of the club following their elimination in Africa.
The club were eliminated at the CAF Confederation Cup play-off round by Algeria’s JS Saoura who beat the Phobians 4-0 last Sunday to advance with a 4-2 aggregate win.
The Ghanaian champions dropped to the Confederation Cup after their Champions League elimination against Wydad Casablanca ( 1-0 home win and 6-1 loss away) but according to the board member such outcomes are normally in football.
” In football, there are three outcomes. Win, draw, and a defeat. So defeats are normal in football. We didn’t like the result but it has happened and we have to move on ” Alhaji Akanbi said on Fox FM.
“Even the almighty Brazil were humiliated 7-1 by Germany and when that happened, did Brazil stop playing football?” He quizzed.
Hearts of Oak will be leaving Algeria on Wednesday for Istanbul in Turkey where they will head to Ivory Coast before finally connecting to Ghana.
