The Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Henry Asante Twum says the team and the technical team of the Black Stars are eager to get the needed victory against Sudan.
Ghana will take on Libya for their second leg game of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against the Falcons on Tuesday with kick-off scheduled for 13:00 GMT after drawing goalless in Accra last Thursday afternoon.
Ghana are without a win in the three games and in their first two games in Group F, the Black Stars suffered a 1-0 defeat against Angola before a 1-1 draw against Niger.
They then went on to draw goalless against Sudan in the first leg at the Accra Sports Stadium last week Thursday making it a daunting task for head coach Otto Addo and his team.
Speaking ahead of the game that will be staged at the Martyrs of February Stadium, Asante Twum said the playing body and the technical team are determined to secure their first win of the qualifiers.
“We didn’t get the needed points against Sudan in Accra, but we know what is at stake for us because we know we have to win to ensure we qualify for the AFCON in Morocco,” he told Asempa FM.
“The players and the technical team are focused on getting the needed points. That is the mission of why we are in Libya. We have to put the first leg behind us,” he added.
Ghana must win to keep their chances of qualifying for the tournament that will be hosted in Morocco next year alive after falling to show up in the opening three matches.
