Ghana striker Bernard Tekpetey, has expressed excitement after completing a two-year loan move to Bulgarian giants Ludogorets Razgrad in the ongoing transfer window, stating that “Everything I’ve heard about Ludogorets so far made me choose this club” .
The 22-year forward completed the loan move to the Green and White lads on Friday.
The Ghanaian international who spent last season on loan deal with Fortuna Düsseldorf was originally set to last until 2021, but has been cancelled prematurely.
“Everything I’ve heard about Ludogorets so far made me choose this club. They play good football and they are always part of the Champions League and Europa League, too. This is important for every player who wants to develop his career”, said Tekpetey.
He added “It is different compared to the Bundesliga but my first impression is that training is on a high level here. The coach wants us to create more attacks. I was happy to see the players so motivated to play for the win. I am also glad to be part of a club with such ambition. I need to work hard and that is the most important thing. This way, I will reach my goals.”
His contract with Schalke is valid until 2023.
He joined the Schalke U23s in early 2016. Since then the Accra-born forward has also played for Austrian club SCR Altach and for then-second-tier side SC Paderborn 07.
He made 9 Bundesliga appearances. For the Royal Blues, Tekpetey made two appearances in the Bundesliga and one in the UEFA Europa League.
