Former Juventus midfielder Stephen Appiah has advised Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey to join Arsenal due to the Gunners’ suitability.
Partey, 27, has been in the transfer news for some time now over a purported move to Arsenal in the Premier League, with Manchester United, Chelsea, Juventus and Barcelona, all believed to be interested in the services.
With his release clause set at €50m (£44.8) Atletico Madrid’s hand could be tied at their backs as top European clubs could gazump the deal to secure his services.
Reports have claimed the Gunners have tabled a lucrative offer for the Ghanaian, who is keen to leave Wanda Metropolitano to prove himself in the Premier League.
And former Ghana captain Stephen Appiah has urged his compatriot to join Arsenal for easy adaptability.
“He is one of the best so at this particular moment, he knows what is good and bad for him. During my heydays, I take the decisions that if I go to Fenerbache it is good than to go to Chievo Verona,” Appiah said
“It will be a difficult decision for him if it is true that Arsenal wants him but I think his style of play will suit Arsenal very well.”
Partey has scored three goals in 36 appearances for Diego Simeone’s side this season.
The Black Stars midfielder’s contract with the Rojiblancos expires in the summer of 2023 with the club keen to extend until 2025 with an improved offer.
