Former Ghana Football Association President, Dr. Nyaho Tamakloe has tasked the Ghanaian government to invest in the local league so that the nation will enjoy good football.
Dr. Nyaho Tamakloe worked as the President of the country’s football governing body between 2001 and 2005 helping Ghana to qualify for their first-ever World Cup in 2006.
According to him if Ghana wants an improvement in the football fraternity then the government should invest more in the game for the accomplishment of that mission.
Commenting on Ghana’s World Cup qualification performance, he said: “Ghana should make sure we invest more in football that the government should put in more money to help the game and also the training should be done well for the boys to be able to get to international standard.
“That’s the most important. If you don’t do that it can have a good effect on the team.” He said.
Ghana will play in the World Cup play-offs next year in March.
