Former Ghanaian international Wilberforce Mfum says the fight over who becomes Ghana’s next captain is a key problem in the current Black Stars team, this the legend believes would continue to hunt the team if not carefully addressed by officials of the team.
“Someone thinks if he is the captain we should win and if he’s not the captain we shouldn’t win and this is something that has become an issue’’ Mfum a member of the 1963 Nations Cup winning team told Kumasi based Metro FM.
He however urged management of the Black Stars team to settle the above issue amicably to save the team from a massive declination.
He insisted that the matter if not handled very well could bring ‘’bigger division than what we are seeing now’’.
‘’This is really bad how come Some players don’t want to give Asamoah Gyan a pass to score because they don’t belong to his camp’’ Mfum asked.
Wilberforce Mfum scored two goals in the finals of the 1963 African Cup of Nations that won Ghana its first continental title.
