Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko, have entered talks with Romanian trainer Aristică Cioabă to become the club’s new head coach, SPORTSworldGhana.com can report exclusively.
The Porcupine Warriors on Friday morning announced the sacking of head coach Maxwell Konadu following the club’s Ghana Premier League 1-0 defeat to Accra Great Olympics on Thursday at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Kotoko in a statement stated that assistant coach Johnson Smith has been appointed to lead the club on interim basis before a substantive manager is appointed.

SPORTS WORLD GHANA understands that the Chief Executive Officer of Kotoko Nana Yaw Amponsah has contacted Cioba through Brazilian lawyer Nilo Aguillar Effor to take over the coaching role.
The former Aduana Stars trainer is currently in Italy after leaving Tanzanian side Azam FC last month and could be on his way back to the Ghanaian top-flight league should negotiations go through with the management of Asante Kotoko.
Aristică left Aduana Stars after the 2015/16 Ghana Premier League season.
