Brentford forward Tariqe Fosu has joined players in the Black Stars camp for the first time ahead of the two international friendlies against Mali and Asian champions Qatar, the club have announced.
The Black Stars head will face Mali this coming Friday, 9 October, kick-off 6pm, in Antalya before a game against Qatar on Monday, 12 October, kick-off 4.30pm.
The two games are in preparation for next month’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers double-header against Sudan.
The 24-year-old was previously included in March’s squad just before football was suspended due to Covid-19.
Egypt-based striker John Antwi, goalkeeper Richard Ofori who plays in South Africa and Lumor Abgenyenu of Sporting Lisbon are all not available for the two friendlies
The trio have not been able to secure work visas to enable them to travel for the two matches in the Turkish city of Antalya, ruling them out of the two games.
In view of that, the Black Stars coach Akonnor has handed a late call-ups to the Turkey-based duo of Joseph Paintsil and Caleb Ekuban to join the team for the matches with Fosu becoming the latest player to be invited for the two friendlies.
