Ghana Premier League side Karela United are set to form a ‘vibrant U-20 football team, a project which will be financed by state Agency Ghana National Gas Company Limited, SportsworldGhana.com can report.
Sports world Ghana understands that the state agency, wants the club to form a very fearsome U-20 side which gradually will be promoted to the senior team to at least save the club some money from player recruitment.
In view of that, the Technical handlers of Karela United will soon embark on a massive scouting exercise to select talented players across the country to form the ‘dream team.
Coach Evans Augustine Adortey’s side have been in tremendous form this campaign in the ongoing Ghana Premier League. They currently occupy 3rd position on the league standings with 32 points after playing games.
Meanwhile, the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), in November last year, announced a $300,000 sponsorship package for the Aiyinase-based club.
As Title Sponsor, the corporation included both exclusive and non-exclusive rights, which include branding at their home stadium, embossment of GNPC’s logo on the team’s Jersey among others.
