Dutch-born defender of Ghanaian descent Mitch Apau has signed for Dutch side FC Emmen, SportsworldHhana.com can confirm.
The 31-year-old right back is joining the Drenthe club until the summer of 2022, with an option for an extra season.
The club decided to offer the experienced defender a deal after impressing the technical handlers during his three weeks trails at the club.
Mitch has no fewer than 141 matches in Dutch professional football to his name.
He made his professional football debut in 2009 as a player for BV Veendam, having played as a youth for OSDO, Zeeburgia, AZ and Ajax.
“Mitch brings a lot of experience,” said Emmen technical manager Michel Jansen.
“He leads the fight and gives energy to the whole team. Moreover, he can play in several positions.” he added.
Since 2014 Apau has featured for RKC Waalwijk, KVC Westerlo Belgium, Olimpija Ljubljana Slovenia and Slovan Bratislava, Slovakia.
Last season he was loaned by Belgian club Patro Eisden to Slaven Belupo in Croatia.
