Ghanaian forward Alex Addai has joined National League Solihull Moors on loan until the end of the season from Cheltenham Town.

The Moors, now managed by ex-Robins boss Mark Yates, were keen to sign the 27-year-old before his temporary switch to Maidenhead United in November.

Addai has not started a League Two match this season, but he has made 10 appearances from the bench for Michael Duff’s promotion chasers.

He is out of contract at the end of the season and is now likely to have made his last appearance in Robins colours.

Addai said: “I’ve heard a lot about Solihull, it’s been making a lot of noise for a long time – I’m excited and happy to join in.

“The facilities are second-to-none and all of the staff and players have made me feel really welcome.

“I’m quick, direct and I love to create things. That’s what you can expect from me.

“The team are on an excellent run at the minute so hopefully I can get some minutes under my belt, affect football matches and get us as high up as possible.”

Addai joined Cheltenham from Merstham in the summer of 2018 after impressing in a reserve team outing at Seasons.

He started out at Tottenham Hotspur before a spell at Blackpool, dropping into non-league football with Carshalton Athletic, Whitehawk, Kingstonian and Grays Athletic.
