EXCLUSIVE: Goldfields Ghana LTD to sponsor Colts Football in Tarkwa – Nsuaem, Prestea Huni-valley municipalities

Goldfields Ghana LTD has expressed its readiness to sponsor Tarkwa-Nsuaem and Prestea Huni-Valley Municipality Colts football.

In an exclusive interview with Tarkwa-based Space FM, Executive Vice President Dr. Alfred Baku revealed the company’s willingness to help promote football in Tarkwa and its vicinity.

“Goldfields Ghana LTD is ready and prepared to give financial support to the development of Colts Football in Tarkwa – Nsuaem and Prestea Huni-Valley Municipality respectively.

According to Dr. Baku, the biggest mining company in the country has decided to finance the Colts League in these areas after the sad event that occurred in Offinso in the Ashanti Region where 8 juvenile footballers were killed in a ghastly bus accident while on their way to embark on Colts football registration exercise.

“We were very saddened about the passing away of the young footballers who were bused to go through registration but couldn’t make it back home”,he said.

“Goldfields Ghana LTD is very determined to give all the necessary support to make Colts football in Tarkwa and its environs a success and we will give it our all to make sure Colts football rise again”,he added.

On the other hand, Mr. Baku also spoke about the work currently being done at the TNA PARK.

“Goldfields Ghana LTD is very happy and excited with the progress of work at TNA Park and we hope to complete it in time to make sure we enjoy football on a quality pitch and a standard stadium”, he concluded.
