English-born Ghanaian forward Omar Bogle is set to sign for Grimsby Town after negotiations reached an advanced stage on Wednesday.
The striker enjoyed a fruitful spell at Blundell Park when his goals aided the Mariners out of non-League and into League Two. He left for Wigan half-way through the following season, before being signed by Cardiff City.
Bogle was released by Cardiff City this summer and Grimsby Town boss Ian Holloway was not keen on him due to his high level and big salaries he was receiving at the Welsh club.
SPORTSworldGhana.com understands that Ian Holloway has failed to acquire his intended target from Charlton Athletic and has now switched his attention to Bogle with talks reaching its peak in midweek.
The 27-year-old attacker is expected to append his signature to a two-year deal in the coming days.
