Hearts of Oak won the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League title following a 1-1 draw against Liberty Professionals during Week 33 of the competition with runner-up Asante Kotoko losing at Bechem United on the same day.
The Phobians clinched their first league title in a decade with a game to spare and according to former Porcupine Warrior Ahmed Toure – currently a player of Medeama SC – the Phobians deserve to win the league title.
Toure – one of the greatest strikers to grace the Ghana Premier League, voted Most Valuable Player of the nation’s top flight in 2010.11 season – spoke to SPORTSWorldGhana.com during an exclusive wide-ranging interview.
“They have been the best team to be honest with you. They deserve the title. If you look at their last 13 games or so they have not lost a single game.” the veteran Burkinabe international striker said to this website.
“I worked with their coach (Samuel Boadu) for a while at Medeama before he left to Hearts of Oak and everyone has seen the job he has done with the team.” Toure who was voted the 2011 MTN FA Cup Best Player added.
The intelligent striker joined Medeama during the second transfer window and has scored 5 goals for his team.
