Accra Hearts of Oak have formally expressed interest in signing Nations FC center-back Razak Simpson as the Phobians continue their aggressive rebuilding drive ahead of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.
According to sources close to both clubs, Hearts of Oak have officially communicated their desire to secure the services of the talented defender, with Nations FC expected to respond before Tuesday.
The Phobians are reportedly keen on wrapping up the deal swiftly, having identified Simpson as a top defensive target to strengthen their backline under new head coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani.
Simpson was one of Nations FC’s standout performers in the recently concluded campaign, making 21 league appearances and impressively scoring four goals from his central defensive position.
His performances at club level also earned him a place in the national team setup, where he has so far made five appearances for the Black Stars, including scoring in the 4-0 win over Trinidad and Tobago during the 2024 Unity Cup.
Hearts of Oak’s management is said to be confident of landing the 23-year-old defender, who fits their vision of building a youthful but experienced squad capable of challenging for silverware both domestically and in Africa.
