Talented Ghanaian midfielder Imanuel Bonsu signs first Professional contract with Dutch side FC Utrecht.
The 17-year-old has penned a three-year with FC Utrecht after showing glimpses of what he could become in the future with his footballing talent.
Midfielder Imanuel Bonsu has signed his first professional contract. The 17-year-old talented controlling midfielder from the Academy of FC Utrecht is now fixed to the Domstedelingen until mid-2023, SPORTSworldGhana.com can reveal.
Bonsu made his entrance at Zoudenbalch in the summer of 2018, after having previously played for SC Heerenveen and Ajax, among others.
The physically strong midfielder made good progress on the Koningsweg and topped the league with his team FC Utrecht Under 17 when the competition was canceled a few months ago due to the corona pandemic.
After his stellar performances for the U-17 side, Bonsu will be part of FC Utrecht’s Under 18 squad for the 2020-21 season.
“Imanuel is a right-footed, physically strong controlling midfielder. He is strong defensively; a real ball conqueror ”, says Technical Director Jordy Zuidam about Bonsu. “He has the ability to cover the entire field, is a so-called box-to-box player. In recent seasons he also made the necessary important goals. Imanuel is a real team player and we are happy that we have joined him for three seasons. ”
The young midfielder is a Dutch-born Ghanaian who could represent his country of descent at any level since he’s played for the Dutch senior team.
