French Ligue 1 side Metz has abandoned negotiations with Udinese over Ghanaian defender Nicholas Opoku following the acquisition of their long term target Kiki Kouyaté for 4million Euros.
SPORTSworldGhana.com can exclusively reveal that the ESTAC Troyes central defender passed his Metz medicals on Tuesday night and has appended his signature to a three-year deal and the “Reds” are no longer pursuing Opoku.
Troyes wanted more money for the 23-year-old Malian guardsman but after Metz decided to switch attention to Opoku , the 4million Euros fee was accepted.
The Ghanaian defender played the second half of last season on loan at Amiens and excelled greatly though they could survive the Ligue 1.
