Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Majeed Ashimeru has earned a late call–up into the Black Stars for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers doubleheader against Sudan, SPORTSworldGhana.com can report exclusively.
The Austrian-based midfielder missed out of the initial squad announced by coach Charles Akonnor last week but has been handed a late call-up for the two friendlies.
It is, however, unclear who the attacking midfielder replaces in the initial 23-man squad announced last week Friday.
Meanwhile, Afriyie Acquah has also been invited for the two games as he returns to the Black Stars for the first time in almost one year.
Ghana, four-time African Champions lead Group C with 6 points following the two wins against South Africa and Sao Tome and Principe in November 2019.
