Former Accra Hearts of Oak assistant Coach Yaw Preko has been named acting manager of Nigeria club FC Ifeanyi Ubah contrary to widespread reports in the Ghanaian media that he has been sacked together with his former boss Kenichi Yatsuhashi.
The duo worked at Hearts Oak and subsequently took the Nigeria club job after parting ways with the Phobians.
Growing reports in the local media this weekend suggested that both Kenchi and Yaw Preko has been sacked for their shambolic performance since their appointment as technical handlers of the club.
But Yaw Preko in an exclusive chat with sportsworldghana.com insisted that he’s not been relieved off his duties.
He adds Kenichi Yatsuhashi and FC Ifeanyi Ubah mutually parted ways contrary to earlier publications that he was fired.
” Kenichi left the job with mutual agreement and I am now the acting head coach of the club”
Yaw Preko further indicated that he guided FC Ifeanyi Ubah to a 1-1 draw with Rangers FC in the last four match of the Nigerian Top 4 tournament.
”I was the one on the bench yesterday when we played league champions Rangers 1-1 draw in the last match of the top 4 tournament.
Meanwhile, an allied of Ifeanyi Ubah has disclosed to our portal the club is considering appointing the Ghanaian coach a substantive manager of the club should he accept their bid.
