Nana Oduro Sarfo resigned from his position as Chief Executive Officer of Berekum Chelsea following unpalatable comments he made on radio after his side’s game against Asante Kotoko last Sunday but has made some allegations against his former boss Obed Nana Kwame Nketiah as the brain behind the poor pitch condition at the Golden City Park.
The home side scored a stoppage time equalizer against the Porcupine Warriors through experience substitute Emmanuel Clottey after Kwame Poku had put the visitors up 1-0 in the first half.
The Berekum Golden City pitch, where the big game took place and was shown live on StartTimes, was in a deplorable state something that triggered.
The GFA Executive Council member has taken lot of sticks from the public for his post-match comments on Accra-based Angel FM but has now revealed more details of the whole confusion.
Speaking to Joy FM the former CEO of the 2011 Ghana Premier League champions said:
“Before the game I said to my boss who is my chairman and President ( Nana Kwame) to go to the Fire Service to see if we can get water for the pitch so that we can have a good game on Sunday (against Kotoko). He told me that I should forget about it because there was no money. So that is how the pitch was so poor for the game. You get it” Oduro Sarfo revealed on Joy FM.
“I think I did not do anything to warrant that attack. Maybe the Twi that I spoke and the people who translated it ( into English) made it the way it look like” Mr. Sarfo explained.
