Accra Hearts of Oak right-back, Fatau Mohammed says coach Samuel Boadu’s decision to allow him lead the team was the rationale behind his good performances in the just ended season.
Fatau was one of the best players on the pitch for the Rainbow club, putting in impressive performances as the club went on to enjoy a fruitful season.
Speaking to Sunyani based Space FM, the Hearts skipper said: “Coach Sanuel Boadu called me one on one when he was appointed and told me that, I’m the captain of the club so I need to be active in the team by working harder for the other players to follow.”
“That was what encouraged me a lot to pick up such a wonderful form this season.”
The overlapping defender also added that the club faced a lot of challenges during the first half of the season but they worked their way out in order to turn things around and achieve the honours.
“Things were not going the way we wanted as a team, but we realised our mistakes and corrected them in the second round, which has won us the ultimate.”
