Member of the Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Dr. Randy Abbey is of the view that youngster, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku could reach the very apex of football if handled well enough.
The former management member for Ghana Premier League giants and treble winners, Accra Hearts of Oak SC says the player needs good development to reach his full potentials.
Dr Abbey said the22021 CAF U-20 Championship best player though has a good potential but must be taken care of properly by his managers.
“Abdul Fatawu Issahaku needs good development and I only pray and wish his managers and handlers make the good choices for him because he has the potential of becoming a big player in the future,” he told Pure FM.
The 19-year-old proved his mettle in the tournament which was won by the Black Satellites and came to the limelight after scoring scorcher at the tournament and being named the overall MVP at the end of the competition in Mauritania.
A hosts of clubs were after the young lad’s signature and was close to joining the German Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen only for the deal to fell through.
After the collapse of his move to Leverkusen, it was widely reported in the Ghanaian media about a move to 2019 UEFA Champions League winners Liverpool FC but the club is yet to make an official statement about the said move.
The young player has also in recent weeks been linked with a move to Portuguese Champions Sporting Lisbon.
Currently, the Steadfast FC hitman is with the Black Stars as they take on the Atlas Lions of Morocco this evening at 7pm in Rabat.
