MLS outfit FC Cincinnati have issued a lifetime banned to a fan who abused American-born Ghanaian midfielder Joseph Claude Agyeman Gyau and Fatai Alashe.
The fan who operates twitter account @flex6307 last week two weeks Monday tweeted at Alashe and Gyau at exactly 6:00 pm using racial slurs.
“They should start an all Negro league and quit fucking bitching.”@flex6307 tweeted at Alashe and Gyau.
The club tracked the fan and issued a statement that he has been identified and contacted and will be serving a banned from now on.
“We stand firmly with our players and our supporters against racism,” club officials tweeted from FC Cincinnati’s main account. “It has no place in our organization and it will not be tolerated. The individual with the racist tweet directed at our players last night will never be permitted to attend another #FCCincy match again.” The club tweeted in Wednesday.
Gyau, who is the grandson of Ghana legend the late Nana Agyemang Gyau was born in Tampa, Florida and has previously played for the likes of TSG Hoffenhein, Dortmund, St. Pauli, Duisburg and a host of other teams.
He joined FC Cincinnati last year and has so far played nine MLS games for them.
