FC Liefering coach Matthias Jaissle has praised Ghanaian winger Forson Amankwah for the impressive role he played in his team’s big win over Kapfenberger.
The on-loan midfielder was in top form in his first start for Austrian second-tier side FC Liefering on Friday evening in their 3-0 league win against Kapfenberger.
Amankwah was named in the starting XI for the first time since making his debut on 10 April against Lafnitz when he replaced Daouda Guindo in the 89th minute.
The former WAFA winger, grabbed that opportunity and was a delight to watch throughout the game with some thrilling and thunderous moves.
He expertly walked through three Kapfenberger players before sending a pass to captain Alex Prass to score the match’s opener in the 27th minute.
Amankwah against assisted Sesko to score the second goal after 72 minutes on the clock.
He lasted the full 90 minutes of the match, making four key passes, 12 duels won, and 50 touches.
”That was a deserved victory in Kapfenberg, also at height! We’ve rotated in one position or another, but it’s always nice to see that the players who haven’t played very much recently integrate seamlessly into the team and sometimes also stand out. I’m especially happy for Forson, who was in the starting XI for the first time and did a very good job!.” said Matthias Jaissle after the game.
The Red Bull Salzburg-owned player has a total of four appearances in the 2.Liga.
