German defender of Ghanaian parentage failed to convert his spot kick as the Under 23 side of Burnley defeated Barrow 4-3 in the English Lancashire Senior Cup on Wednesday night.
With the shoot-out locked at 3-3, Josh Galloway hit the bar with Barrow’s fourth penalty and Festus Arthur’s effort was well saved by Sam Waller to take Burnley to the quarter finals of the competition.
Arthur who is on loan from Hull City had a fantastic game as he put the brakes on the Burnley attackers to ensure that regulation time ended goalless.
The 21-year-old central defender was a delight to watch at the Gawthorpe Stadium with his good tackles and ability to initiate attack from the back.
He has played eleven games in all competitions this season scoring one goal.
