Ex-Ghana shot stopper Fatau Dauda, has revealed his favorite opponent for the Black Stars in the 2022 FIFA World Cup playoffs.
According to the 2014 FIFA World Cup goalkeeper for Ghana, neighbors, Nigeria would be the ideal opponent for the Black Stars who hope to make it to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Ghana saw off the Bafana Bafana of South Africa to book a place in the playoffs of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers which will be played in March.
“It was a good performance from the players,” he said on GTV Sports Plus following Ghana’s narrow 1-0 victory at home to the South Africans.
“The entire team played well with full energy and urgency and we are in the playoffs now”, he said.
When he was asked about his preferred country for the playoffs, he said, “I honestly want Black Stars to play Nigeria in the playoffs.
“They can give us a good test but I am confident we can beat them,” he added.
The four-time AFCON champions missed the last edition of the competition in 2018 and could make a return to the FIFA Mundial if they win their playoffs games in March.
