Edwin Gyasi is delighted to have tasted victory as captain CSKA Sofia for the first-time in a 1-0 win over Vareya on Sunday in the Bulgarian top-flight.
Gyasi, 27, was handed the armband to lead the team with main skipper Nikolay Bodurov facing suspension.
Portuguese midfielder Tiago Rodriques scored the only goal in the game to hand his side all three points in the game.
Gyasi, after the game posted on his Facebook page “Good win today! Honored to be the captain of the team!”
He has so far netted three goals for CSKA Sofia this term.
Born in the Netherlands to Ghanaian parents, Gyasi made his senior debut for the senior national team, the Black Stars in a 5-1 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification win over Congo on 5 September 2017.
