George Afriyie- former vice President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), believes Ghana will make it to the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
The Black Stars defeated the Bafana Bafana of South 1:0 in their final Group G game at the Cape Coast Stadium to advance to the playoffs.
With the three-time campaigners waiting to know their play-off opponent next year, Mr. Afriyie who once chaired the Black Stars management committee is confident another World Cup spot will be booked next year.
Speaking on Kumasi-based Akoma FM indicated that the time has come for the country to also end its forty years Afcon trophy drought.
He, however, disclosed his readiness to to support the FA succeed in that regard
“Yes we can and we are on course to qualify. I support the FA in all aspects that they must do to secure qualification for the Black Stars and I’m ever ready to support them to achieve this goal by winning the AFCON so we can end the forty years drought.” George Afriyie said.
Meanwhile, Coach Milovan Rajevac and his charges will depart Accra on 22nd December 2021 to Doha where the team will pitch camp ahead of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Cameroon.
