Former Ghana number Goalkeeper Fatau Dauda has called on Ghanaians to massively rally behind the Black Stars ahead of Thursday’s 2021 African Cup of Nations qualifier against Sudan.
The Black Stars hosts Sudan in the third round of the qualifiers on Thursday 12th November 2020 at the Cape Coast Stadium and the Legon Cities captain wants the entire country to offer the team unflinching support to ginger them to victory.
CK Akonnor’s side will travel to Sudan five days later for the reverse encounter.
‘’For now, my focus is on Legon Cities. It’s only God who knows if I earn get national team call-up but for now my focus is on my club,’’ Dauda told Kumasi-based Hello FM.
“The coach knows more than I know. So, as Ghanaians, we should all support the players he has called for us to win. If we win, we will mention the name of Ghana and not individual players.
“The coach has a reason for calling every single player. He knows the person can help him. He cannot call everyone. Therefore, we should all support the selected players to achieve.” he added.
Ghana, four-time African Champions currently atop Group C with six points after winning the first two games in the qualifiers against South Africa and Sao Tome and Principe.
Meanwhile, the game which kicks off at exactly 4pmGhana time, will be played behind closed doors as a result of the Coronavirus.
