Former Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Ibrahim Danlad appears to be on the cusp of a new adventure with Ethiopian Coffee Sport Club, according to reports.
The 21-year-old shot-stopper bid farewell to his eight-year tenure with the Porcupine Warriors last month after failing to secure a contract extension.
After struggling for playing time at Kotoko, where he played just 13 matches during the 2023/24 season, Danlad has reportedly agreed to personal terms with Ethiopian Coffee SC, also known as the Morning Stars. The goalkeeper is expected to be formally unveiled and commence preseason training with the team next week.
Ethiopian Coffee SC, who finished third in the Ethiopian Premier League last season, is looking to bolster its squad ahead of a competitive bid for the league title in the upcoming campaign. With Danlad’s experience and skills, he could be a valuable addition to the team.
During his time at Asante Kotoko, Danlad made significant contributions, representing Ghana at various youth levels and earning caps for the senior national team, the Black Stars. He was also part of the Black Stars’ squad for the 2022 World Cup held in Qatar.
