The midfielder’s impressive form throughout the 2023/24 season was instrumental in the team’s success, as he scored seven goals in 30 appearances.
In a thrilling finale, Bashiru provided a crucial assist on the final day as Ethiopia Nigd Bank defeated Ethiopian Insurance 2-0, securing the title. The win saw the team finish with 64 points, just one point ahead of Mechal Sports.
It was a remarkable achievement for Ethiopia Nigd Bank, who gained promotion to the top division just this season and went on to shock some of the league’s top clubs, including St George, Ethiopia Coffee, former champions Fasil City, and Hadassah.
