Former Legon Cities FC captain Suleman Mohammed has departed the Ghanaian Premier League to join Ethiopian Premier League side Shire Endaselassie FC on a free transfer.
The 27-year-old centre-back has agreed to a one-year contract with an option for an additional year.
Mohammed’s contract with Legon Cities FC expired after the 2023-24 season, and he has taken the opportunity to move abroad to continue his career.
He made 28 appearances in the Ghanaian Premier League last season, helping his team retain their top-flight status.
Additionally, he played a crucial role in the FA Cup competition, reaching the semi-finals.
The talented defender was instrumental in many matches, earning a couple of man of the match awards for his impressive performances.
Mohammed is now expected to strengthen the defense of Shire Endaselassie FC as they aim to remain in the Ethiopian Premier League for the next season.
This marks the third time a Ghanaian player has moved to the Ethiopian Premier League this transfer window, following in the footsteps of Asante Kotoko duo Ibrahim Danlad and Sherif Mohammed.
