Former West African Football Academy (WAFA) SC graduate Daniel Owusu netted his second goal of the season for FC Liefering on Friday evening.
The Ghanaian forward grabbed his second goal of the campaign in his third league appearance for the Red and Whites away at Austria Lustenau.
Owusu was subbed off in the second half after 56 minutes when his team was trailing 2-1 and was replaced by Roko Simic.
Pius Grabher opened the scoring in the 24 minutes to put the hosts 1-0 up in the first half with a sweet finish.
Two minutes later, Owusu netted the equalizer with a nice strike after a beautiful assist by Nene Dorgeles on the 26th minute mark to make it 1-1.
Brazilian star Wallace Menezes dos Santos broke Owusu and his team mates heart as he scored the second goal to restore the home team’s lead after 38 minutes with seven minutes left.
It finished 2-1 at the end of the match as Liefering suffered their first defeat of the season which saw Lustenau ascending to the top of the league table with three wins out of three wins and with nine points.
The 18-year-old versatile forward from the WAFA Academy has two goals in three matches this season in the Austrian Second Tier League.
