Frank Acheampong is making headlines in China after leading Henan FC to their first-ever Chinese FA Cup final.
The Ghana winger was the key man in the semi-final, where Henan stunned Chengdu Rongcheng on penalties to book a spot in the final against Beijing Gouan.
Acheampong has been in outstanding form this season, scoring 11 goals with one assist in 23 league matches and adding another goal in the FA Cup. In total, he has 12 goals across all competitions.
Despite being overlooked by the Black Stars in recent years, the former Anderlecht and Tianjin Tigers forward has become a cult hero in China, delivering consistent performances and collecting several Man of the Match awards.
On social media, Acheampong thanked supporters, saying the team’s progress to the final was made possible because of their unwavering backing.
The 31-year-old, who has already won league and cup titles in Belgium and Thailand, is now chasing another piece of silverware in Asia.
