Paris Saint Germain have reportedly made Mohamed Salah their plan B in case Kylian Mbappe fails to sign a contract extension this summer.
Salah has proved once again this season his ability to remain consistent throughout different campaigns with 29 goals to his name so far in 46 appearances.
The Egyptian is also Liverpool’s top scorer, 16 goals ahead of Sadio Mane (13), Jota (12), and Firmino (6). He also sits second on the Premier League goalscoring charts with 20 goals, only one behind Tottenham’s Harry Kane.
However, the Reds have been struggling for form so far this season as they are six points away from the UEFA Champions League spots and were knocked out in the quarter-finals from this year’s edition.
This all led to speculation about Salah’s future at Anfield, especially following his flirtation with the Spanish press, which raised doubts about his relationship with Jurgen Klopp.
So it comes as no surprise that Paris Saint-Germain have put Mohamed Salah high on their list as a replacement of Kylian Mbappé, who is yet to reach an agreement over a contract with the French giants.
The World Cup winner will see his Parisian contract expire in 2022 and to avoid losing him on a free transfer, PSG could cash in on him next summer, with Real Madrid dreaming of landing him.
And according to Le Parisien, the Ligue 1 champions are already exploring alternatives and have placed Liverpool star Mohamed Salah at the top of their list.
The report adds that PSG’s Qatari leaders have been dreaming of bringing in an Arab and a Muslim star since taking over the club in 2011 after failing to recruit either Samir Nasri or Adel Taarabt.
Moreover, Salah would also appease the needs of manager Mauricio Pochettino and the club can afford his wages despite his high market value.
