French Ligue 1 side Olympique Lyon, are yet to officially contact Ghanaian defender Nicholas Opoku for a possible summer transfer move, a source has told SPORTSworldGhana.com.
Opoku, 23, joined league 1 side at Amiens on-loan from Serie A side Udinese in the middle of this season and was one of the outstanding defenders in the league.
The former Berekum Chelsea centre-back’s impressive display at Amiens, have caught the attention of Lyon’s scout and their technical handlers and want to sign him from parent club Udinese Calcio.
Though Amiens has the first option to buy Opoku, the former club African ace SPORTSworldGhana.com, understand wants a move to a ‘big’ club Lyon after opting to stay in France but haven’t been officially approached by Lyon.
‘’The news is a rumour to Opoku, the said club have not officially contacted him despite several reports linking him to the club, ‘’ the source told SPORTSworldGhana.com in a brief chat.
Meanwhile, Rennes are also reported to have expressed interest in the services of Opoku after failing to reach agreement with Real Valladolid for his country Mohammed Salisu.
