Racing Club de Strasbourg Alsace manager Thiery Laurey has named Ghana international striker Majeed Waris as part of his squad for the opening day of the 2020/21 Ligue 1 season on Sunday against Lorient.
Strasbourg finished respectable 10th place last season in the Ligue 1 and will be bidding to improve that position this season.
Waris is a key part of the 19-man squad for the trip at Lorient but he will have to beat off competition from fellow strikers Idriss Saadi, Kévin Zohi, Ludovic Ajorque to make the starting formation.
However the Ligue 1 is not new to the Right to Dream academy graduate.
The 28-year old Ghanaian forward has 9 goals in 16 Ligue 1 games for Valenciennes, 20 goals in 56 league games for Lorient, 5 goals in 33 games for Nantes and 2 goals in 8 Ligue 1 matches for Strasbourg bringing his total tally in the 5th best league of Europe to 36 goals in 103 games.
The game kicks off on Sunday at 13:00 GMT.
