Gent manager Jess Thorup has emphasized that veteran Ghanaian defender Nana Asare and Brecht Dejaegere must find new employers as they are not in his plans.
Thorup stressed that the duo have done a lot for the club but they are advanced in age and they are no more reliable.
“Those two guys (Asare and Dehaegere) have done great things for the club, but now is the time to look for something different. I hope they find a solution as soon as possible because I no longer count on them”, Thorup told Het Laatste Nieuws.
Asare, 34, joined Gent from Mechelen in 2013 and has gone on to make 272 appearances for the club scoring four goals and providing sixteen assists.
His current contract with Gent expires on June 30, 2021.
