Newly appointed Chief Executive Officer of Asante Kotoko, George Amoako, has lashed out at on Dr Nyaho Nyaho Tamakloe over his comment that Hearts of Oak are better positioned than his outfit in terms of football management.
During the Phobians Annual General Meeting (AGM) last week, the outspoken Dr Tamakloe claimed that his outfit are way ahead of their arch-rivals when it comes to management of football.
Dr Tamakloe’s comments come after some members of their sworn rivals criticized Hearts of Oak for the hasty migration to the Pobiman training facility.
But the comments did not go down well with George Amoako who has revealed how he reacted upon hearing it for the first time.
“I was traveling from Accra to Kumasi and heard the sound bite, I called the attention of Hearts of Oak management that I don’t want to react because it won’t be a matured thing to do to react, let’s ensure to get that gentleman to keep his mouth shut, that won’t move the 2 teams forward,” Mr Amoako told Oyerepa FM.
“Hearts and Kotoko have nothing to show currently, tell me, we are not rated among first sixty clubs in Africa so what management are we talking of. It was an irresponsible talk, very irresponsible.”
When George Amoako’s attention was drawn to the ‘irresponsible’ word he used in his comment, he said, “I would first and foremost take that expression of irresponsible used, I used irresponsible relative to the utterances of the gentleman.”
“I haven’t said Hearts is irresponsible but what was said is an irresponsible statement.”
