German-born Ghanaian midfielder Gideon Jung has completed a move to Turkish Super Lig side Kayserispor, signing a one-year contract with an option for an additional 12 months.
The 30-year-old joins from German outfit Greuther Fürth, bringing a wealth of Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga experience to the Red and Golds. Jung arrived in Turkey last week to finalise the deal and has already linked up with his new teammates as pre-season preparations intensify ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
“A 1+1 year contract has been signed between our club and Gideon Jung. We wish our footballer success under our glorious jersey,” Kayserispor announced in a statement.
Jung, a former Germany youth international, spent the majority of his career in Germany, featuring for Hamburger SV, Rot-Weiß Oberhausen, and Greuther Fürth, amassing over 300 professional appearances across the country’s top divisions.
This move marks his first spell abroad, and he is expected to play a pivotal role in Kayserispor’s midfield this season. He joins fellow German-born Ghanaian Aaron Opoku, who also signed for the club earlier in the summer transfer window.
Jung is set to make his competitive debut when Kayserispor open their Super Lig campaign against Istanbul Başakşehir.
