German Bundesliga 2 side Holstein Kiel have handed a two-year contract extension deal to German-born Ghanaian winger Noah Awuku.
The talented forward has been tied to the Die Störche until summer 2023.
The former Chemnitzer FC loanee widesman after signing the fresh deal expressed his joy.
”Here in Kiel I got the chance to take my first steps in professional football after years in the youth academy and I am very happy about this sign of appreciation and support,” the 20-year-old told the club’s official website
He added, “I would like to thank you for this trust and am motivated to continue working hard every day in order to be back on the field as quickly as possible.”
Holstein Kiel sporting director Uwe Stöver on the other hand, spoke highly of Awuku, having passed through the club’s youth ranks.
”We are convinced of Noah’s footballing abilities and see further development potential in him,” said Uwe Stöver to the same club’s forum
“And of course we also have a social responsibility towards young players to give them the support they need even if they are seriously injured. His injury at the start of the season is very painful for him and also for us, but we are convinced that after his recovery he will quickly reintegrate into the team and come back even stronger.
