Former Hamburg defender Gideon Jung is on the verge of joining city rivals St. Pauli ahead of the 2021/22 Bundesliga II season.
The 24-year-old German-born Ghanaian terminated his contract prematurely with HSV after seven years at the club in the just-ended season.
The talented defender is considering staying in the city of Hamburg and looks likely to make a move to rivals St.Pauli.
MOPO reports that Jung abrogated his contract with HSV following interest from St. Pauli despite one more year remaining on his contract.
Jung made 19 caps in all competitions for the club.
Meanwhile, Bundesliga II side Greuther Fürth have also shown interest in signing the center-back ahead of next season’s campaign.
