Ghanaian forward Ragnar Ache has been named in Germany’s U21 squad for the European Championship qualifiers later this month.
Germany will face Moldova on October 9 at the Zimbru Stadium in Chisinau before taking on Bosnia-Herzegovina on October 13.
Coach Stefan Kuntz included the Eintracht Frankfurt forward and four debutants Florian Wirtz (Bayer 04 Leverkusen), Linton Maina (Hannover 96), Lars Lukas Mai (SV Darmstadt 98) and David Raum (SpVgg Greuther Fürth). To return Felix Agu (Werder Bremen) and Niklas cod (KAA Gent) in the 23-man squad.
With three wins and two defeats (nine points), Germany is currently in second place in their EM qualification group nine. Belgium leads the table with ten points after five games. The final qualifying game against Wales in Braunschweig will follow on November 17th.
Due to the corona pandemic, the 2021 European Under-21 Championship will be staged in Slovenia and Hungary according to a decision by the UEFA Executive Committee on June 17, 2020.
From March 24th to March 31st, 2021, the preliminary round will take place with 16 teams in four groups. The first and second-placed in each group of four qualify for the knockout round.
The quarter-finals, the semi-finals and the final will be played here from May 31 to June 6, 2021.
The currently running qualifying competition will be played to the end in September, October and November 2020.
