Getafe to offer Ghana’s Amankwaa Akurugu new contract

Spanish La Liga side Getafe are set to hand Ghanaian teenager Amankwaa Akurugu a new deal.

Akurugu, 19, joined the La Liga club last year on a one-year deal and has greatly impressed in the youth team.

The talented left-back made 19 appearances in all competitions for Getafe which included fourteen with the Under 19’s, four with the second team and one in the La Liga which was against Barcelona.

Sportsworldghana.com understands that the Getafe coaching staff are impressed with the output of Akurugu and they are ready to give him a long-term deal which could also see him having permanent promotion to the senior team.

Though primarily a left-back, Akurugu can also operate as a central midfielder.
